From Vows to Vintage Heirlooms: Designing Our Wedding Crest

When we started planning our wedding, I knew I wanted to create something truly personal; a symbol that felt like us. That’s how our wedding crest was born: a hand-drawn design that would become the centerpiece of our invitation suite… and, unexpectedly, the inspiration for an entire needlepoint collection.

Designing the crest was one of the first creative steps I took during the planning process. It included nods to our shared interests, meaningful colors, and motifs that represented where we’ve been and where we’re going. It felt natural to express that through florals and texture; and it didn’t take long before the crest found its way onto more than just paper.

Needlepoint was always going to be part of the celebration. It’s what we do. But bringing it into the wedding décor gave it a whole new kind of meaning. We translated the crest into a hand-painted needlepoint canvas and stitched it for display. From there, the collection grew:

Needlepoint Table Numbers – each one unique, stitched with care by my fiance's co-workers, and framed on every reception table

Wedding Crest – prominently displayed at the entrance and every detail stitched by my fiance

Open Bar Sign – a cheeky stitched piece that features our sweet cat Roo, which we know will make the rounds on Instagram

Card Box Sign – a small, elegant stitched canvas that tied the entire suite together

Creating these pieces gave me the chance to slow down and savor the process during such a whirlwind season. Each stitch became part of our story... physical, tangible reminders of a day we’ll never forget.

Now, that wedding crest has grown into a full collection that others can personalize for their own big moments. What started as a design for two people in love has become something much bigger and I couldn’t be more honored to share it.
